Incorrect reference to Google's adoption of Hilltop
[edit]According to this article about Amit Patel and Krishna Bharat, Google adopted Hilltop when it rolled out Google News (which appeared in 2002). Jonathan, if you're still monitoring this section, what do you think of an edit to correct the dating and mention the use of Hilltop in Google News? (Of course, other people are welcome to pipe in, too!) Michael Martinez (talk) 20:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, after waiting 13 years and still seeing people misattribute Hilltop to Google's general Web search, I decided it was time to start cleaning up this article. The algorithm was adapted to Google News. It was not used in Web search. Finding good sources will take time, but I've added a couple. Michael Martinez (talk) 19:42, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
