Split

[edit]

I've suggested this article be split because Serbia and Montenegro no longer exists. It would be best either split between two articles (Hinduism in Serbia and Hinduism in Montenegro) or, if there is insufficient substantial content to support two articles, be wholly merged to "Hinduism in Serbia". To leave the article as it is makes Wikipedia look somewhat backward, considering the title country ceased to exist almost six years ago. ClaretAsh 00:35, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for clarifying. First, there is nothing to stop you from being bold and carrying out the split right now. Second, I read Serbia and Montenegro as meaning the article covered 2 countries, so there is no real need to split on that account. Third, the article is not really viable as it stands. Fourth, having looked at the atricles for the neighbours, they are not really viable either. Have you considered merging the appropriate articles to form, say Hinduism in the Balkans or Hinduism in South East Europe or something similar?
If you were to do the work then I would not oppose you if you did either of your suggestions or if you did what I suggested. Hope this helps Op47 (talk) 19:40, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good points. Or maybe even merge to the respective "Religion in..." articles. I might get around to doing it myself. When I tag articles like this, it's not just to let others know but also to add it my watchlist to remind myself to do it. In the meantime, I'll leave the split tag on there. It's not urgent (in terms of the relevant backlogs) and anyone who monitors for such articles will see our suggestions here. Nonetheless, I'll see how I go with my other work and I'll look into this again. ClaretAsh 05:22, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Scratch that. I'll do it now. ClaretAsh 09:11, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I merged the majority to a section within Religion in Serbia. I ignored the Monetenegro element as it was not sourced and not substantial. ClaretAsh 09:32, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"... and anyone who monitors for such articles will ...", that would be me. Thankyou for doing that so quickly. Op47 (talk) 10:49, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
