Exaggeration

[edit]

If somebody can cite information that indicates that this program may exaggerate the truth, then please do so. I'm not making an accusation, but I am curious. Iambk 22:39, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the program seems to either exaggerate or make up some of the stories, and I'm rather curious to see if this is more than just a feeling. Shipton 08:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't agree at all, I love the show, if anyone "makes up the story" it would be the people telling the stories and in couple people die and really doubt people could make that up, they must research that isn't made up.
That's great but we're looking for evidence. "The people telling the stories" could just be actors. Also please stamp your replies. Shipton 15:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
IT'S IN THE NEWS. Search up their names in Google and find out all about the story.--202.156.14.98 (talk) 11:25, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kidnap in the Killing Fields

[edit]

Let's try to keep some accuracy here - the 'wartorn country' is Cambodia, and those people were more than just 'rebels,' they were Khmer Rouge. Calling them rebels is like calling the Nazis 'oppressive invaders.' Shipton 15:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Articles

[edit]

Is anyone going to write any of the episode articles? If no one will, I will write some. Radical3 00:35, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Season 4

[edit]

I was surprised to find myself watching a new episode nearing 12 am. I checked IMDB and they had the summary up and airing. I checked the site, and there is a schedule for an upcoming episode. I haven't found reasons why it is airing at such a late date.

I am unsure how to number the episodes, since I don't know how the creator intended to number them. Unicogirl (talk) 05:23, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alive

[edit]

What's the difference between Alive and (Alive in Britain)? (first line of the article). I can't see it. --DrJos (talk) 08:31, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean "the difference"? "Alive" and "Alive" are clearly the same words. (1) Are you talking about another TV series also called Alive? Because "Alive" is such a short, generic name, I would assume that there could be multiple different TV series that share the same name. Sure enough, a short Google search reveals one zombie horror series also called Alive. (2) "(Alive in Britain)" literally means "also known as Alive in Britain", which I think you were misunderstanding. In that case, I will make an edit to make "(Alive in Britain)" clearer. XP1 (talk) 08:29, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Lost in the Snow"

[edit]

The description says they were stranded in a national park. There are no national parks in the area they were traveling through, unless it is the "Lassen Volcanic National Park," which I don't think it was. There may have been national forest land (administered by the USDA) or Bureau of Land Management land. Unlike national parks, these areas are not regularly patrolled because they're not mananged for recreational purposes.

I don't know how to edit. I'm just pointing out something that I'm certain is an error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.254.12.49 (talk) 18:21, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seasons.

[edit]

Are there four or are there five? Answer: four Evidence: store.discovery.com/detail.php?p=85206 and https://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/796837 http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=394910046 This is open to discussion by the way. Post on what you think. --202.156.14.98 (talk) 06:56, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are FIVE seasons as they were shown on tv (there are very clear seasonal breaks between them!) but they combined some of the episodes for the dvd sets. They should be listed in their original tv sets as that is the original way they were shown and then it should be noted that they were changed when put into dvd sets. DVDs can change the order of episodes, combine them, even leave some off entirely and more (I have seen ALL occur) so they are never the right thing to rely on. Episodes should be listed by original airdate and season date only. 69.246.106.234 (talk) 17:43, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay... but for the currently airing season, the iTunes store says it is season 4 now. It is airing right now, so they should not have changed it. Bearing that in mind, some websites say it is the fifth season, some say it is the third and some say it is the fourth. ISBA has very complicated season numberings. (some say that the twenty episodes airing in 2010 are season three and the new episodes in 2011 are season four) It depends on the definition of a "season" to the user or to the developer. Season "MIGHT" mean year, or anything with a break in between. I live in Asia however so I cannot ascertain what was shown on TV. (Animal Planet Asia has a completely different set of programs) So far the developers (to my knowledge) cannot agree on a season number for each episode and this may cause confusion - typical DVD buyer, "I want Season Three", they get season three and then say "That's not Season Three, it's Season Two. I want my money back you swindlers" because Wikipedia said it was Season 3, not Season 2. Maybe we should explain in a new section the DVD/TV fiasco and the numbering problem for people to take into account, rather than providing individual opinions.--202.156.14.98 (talk) 09:10, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's the best idea; easiest and least confusing way to handle it. Keep them listed as they first aired but then make a note about the changes made when the show was re-released on dvd. It was released as a 'complete series' dvd back in 2006 so that takes precedent over the re-issued ones.69.246.106.234 (talk) 22:59, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well the season starting with "A dad's worst nightmare" is season 4, I know for a fact, and the one starting with "Trapped in the canyon" is season 3. They update the iTunes page for ISBA every Wednesday/Thursday when the new episodes come out, it says dad's worst nightmare is in season 4 and trapped in the canyon is season 3. The end. How the other seasons go is completely unknown.--LOLCaatz (talk) 08:12, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The end? Umm sorry no. I don't think you've even bothered reading the conversation. The seasons were established with the FIRST airing of the show and the FIRST airing takes precedent. Just because they screwed with it afterward doesn't change the original seasons.69.246.106.234 (talk) 04:07, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is the end. They update the iTunes seasons while they are still airing. As soon as "A dad's worst nightmare" was aired, they stuck it on the iTunes store. Season 4. The point is that they didn't stick it on iTunes sometime after they air them all, but they stick them on when they air. --LOLCaatz (talk) 12:03, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remind Me I Shouldn't Be Alive (Season 5) Volcano Vacation Hell TV-PG

--LOLCaatz (talk) 12:05, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have added "outcomes" to the first two seasons.

[edit]

Only the first two? Because I didn't want to spoil the last three (Discovery Channel spoils these episodes too) I'm not very experienced so if anyone can help me with a "show spoiler" button or something similar that would be great. Please do not remove, if you have to comment it out. It was a lot of work finding the full names.--202.156.14.98 (talk) 10:48, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I LOVE THIS SHOW BUT I HAVE JUST ONE COMPLAINT

[edit]

I Love to watch this show. There are very few shows that I look forward to watching on a regular basis because I can learn a lot from it. The only complaint that I have about the show is that they are not giving the local rescuers meaning non professional rescuers due credit for their skill and bravery. Examples: In one episode a man was lost in the Australian outback and local Aborigines used their traditional tracking methods to locate and save the mans life. In another episode a woman was lost in the Grand Canyon and local Native Americans used their traditional tracking methods to save and find the woman. I don't think these people are getting the proper recognition that they deserve and it almost seems as if they are being taken for granted. If they haven't already been these people should be rewarded and perhaps even employed as part of a the professional search and rescue teams. In yet another episode a group of skydivers had to abandon their plane that went down into the ocean. One man survived for 24hrs in the ocean and was saved by local fishermen. I think the role of locals in search and rescue is being greatly undervalued and underestimated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jparham3 (talkcontribs) 04:18, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New account.

[edit]

My IP address was changed by the ISP and ended up being blocked so I made a new account. 202.156.14.xx is now LOLCaatz. LOLCaatz (talk) 09:58, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why does that matter to this article? 69.246.106.234 (talk) 22:57, 23 January 2011 (UTC) Because I do about 95% of edits on it, wrote all the descriptions for Season 4 and Season 5, amended everything, added survivors and deceased, just if people are wondering If you do not care, please stop looking at my post. --LOLCaatz (talk) 08:07, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mark's last name

[edit]

I distinctly remember that in the shark episode, Mark's last name was Adams, but John's last name was never mentioned, nor was Meg's. I don't know how to provide a reference for Mark...does anyone know how I could do that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.147.60.6 (talk) 23:38, 24 January 2011 (UTC) For example [1] --LOLCaatz (talk) 12:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do not reveal any more survivors.

This show is not going to profit if you do.

Remove all my periods and change "he is" to "his"? Please.

About the criticism

[edit]

The criticism states that Animal Planet should not be broadcasting a show without animals. But aren't humans animals as well? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.206.193.92 (talk) 19:12, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With this edit I have reverted all the way back to a point in February 2011 before the IP vandal with an address is the 92. range (92.13.29.116 ; 92.5.150.124 ; 92.5.147.152 ; 92.13.18.154 etc etc) began to mess up this page. I suggest that if he/she continues to do this that this is the edit that should always be reverted to, despite the fact that it obviously contains many incorrect facts etc. Ericoides (talk) 06:04, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Semi protected

I semi'd the article for 1 week. Jasper Deng (talk · contribs) had requested indefinite protection but it's better to try shorter durations first. If vandalism continues after protection please relist at WP:RFPP. Regards, causa sui (talk) 17:12, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
