Date of Death

[edit]

There seems to be some confusion about date of death. French language sources (appearing on the sixth of October) seem to have been informed by the Senegalese Ministry of Culture, which in turn was informed by the family. They (Figaro) said originally the 27th of September. Now they're saying the 4th of October. These are successive Saturdays, which I assume is the source of confusion. The NYT is saying the 5th (Sunday), but doesn't give its source, or match any other source, so the 4th seems to be the best information we have at the moment, event though this contradicts the only English language obit cited here. For French versions see: [1], [2]. Note also that Le Soliel (Dakar) also originally gave "Last Friday" on the sixth (Meaning the 3rd or the 26th?) here: http://www.lesoleil.sn/article.php3?id_article=40185 . Just a clarification in case someone else notices the discrepancies. T L Miles (talk) 16:39, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
