About his wife

I think we should also mention his wife as she was another source of inspiration for Bloom from Winx Club. He met Joanne Lee during a journey to Singapore in the late 1990s and she became the executive producer for Rainbow's shows. Then they married and she became Rainbow's vice-president. Good idea, I did always see Joanne's name as the executive producer of Winx and Club 57 but didn't know they were married. But do you know what year they got married so that can get put into the history, I can't find that? Donimb (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Straffi talks about his wife here. Highlights:

Interviewer: È vero che Bloom, la leader delle fatine, assomiglia a sua moglie Joanne, vice presidente di Rainbow? (Is it true that the fairy leader Bloom looks like his wife Joanne, vice president of Rainbow?) Straffi: Come lei è generosa, positiva, energica e soprattutto determinata. Una dote che, quando si trasforma in testardaggine però può essere controproducente. (Like her, she is generous, positive, energetic and above all determined. A talent that, when it turns into stubbornness, however, can be counterproductive.)

Interviewer: Dietro ogni grande uomo c'è sempre una grande donna: è d'accordo? (Behind every great man there is always a great woman: do you agree?) Straffi: In famiglia io sono il creativo, lei si occupa del resto. Ho conosciuto Joanne nel 1997 ad una fiera a Singapore dove è nata. Dopo la laurea e un master in brand management negli Stati Uniti, lavorava alla Form Holdings, una delle compagnie asiatiche principali del settore dell'Entertainment Business con studi di animazione in tutta l'Asia oltre a essere distributore esclusivo per Sony BMG e prodotti di intrattenimento Disney. (In the family I am the creative, she takes care of the rest. I met Joanne in 1997 at a fair in Singapore where she was born. È stata lei a istituire il dipartimento di marketing e licensing e a creare il fenomeno di marketing globale intorno al concept Winx Club. Inoltre, come produttore esecutivo segue anche molti progetti artistici. (First there was the professional agreement: in 1998 she joined Rainbow. Interviewer: Un vice presidente operativo, non certo di rappresentanza... (An operational vice president, certainly not only representative...) Straffi: Vero. Insieme formiamo un team unico. Stare a fianco a uno come me, che vive per il lavoro, non è facile. Ma lei ha pazienza e ha sposato anche la mia passione. Io mi espongo, lei, da tipica orientale, è più riservata. (True. Together we form a unique team. Being close to someone like me who lives for work is not easy. But she has patience and also married my passion. I expose myself, she, as a typical oriental, is more reserved.)
