What is Hosshato? Itō invented it. It must have been important, so what is it? P0M (talk) 14:37, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But When?

[edit]

Unknown dates of birth and death: Like most humans who’ve ever lived. No big deal. But can any dates be assigned to any events mentioned here, which would be worth mentioning in this article’s context? Reading the article as a dilettante, without following every link, I can guess that Itō Ittōsai was a practicing swordsman during the Tokugawa shogunate, which narrows it down; but that’s about as far as I go. YMMV.

Portrait of Itō Ittōsai

[edit]

There are multiple sources that say this portrait is Ito Ittosai. Such as here and here. The same portrait is also used as the cover of this book Secrets of Itto-ryu: Book One. If anyone has a better portrait please post a link here. -Artanisen (talk) 15:59, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
