Apparently this entire article has been copied and pasted from "All Experts" at http://experts.about.com/e/j/j/j._j._becher.htm.

  • Apparently it is just the other way round. The AllExperts article (from Tuesday, 24-Oct-2006 01:46:22 GMT) copied an older revision of the wikipedia article (the July 2005 revision already has this information). The obvious plagiator did not even bother to mention that the article is based on the the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica. but was also stupied enough to copy and paste the UTF-8 data into an iso-8859-1 environment, so the German characters in "Thier- Kräuter- und Bergbuch)" do not display correctly. Think twice before you raise false accusations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.221.232.175 (talk) 17:35, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see many notices on Wikipedia that plagiarized material will be deleted, but a large percentage of what I've found is copied from other sources.

Also, someone added a line claiming Becher was a homosexual. I have not been able to substantiate this claim. Even if it were true, it was inserted contrary to the norms of good writing. Yopienso 19:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • It was probably one of Becher's friends. ;)

Name

[edit]

There seems no basis in the sources for calling him J. J. Becher. This is just a handy abbreviation for labeling computer files, and deserves no place in the article that I see, especially as its title. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 15:42, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
