He invented the bert slide with Tony Alva. The bert slide was born from surfing.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.100.181.169 (talk) 14:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC) [reply]

At tony's house at a party one day he went with tony's sister Kathy Alva which was stacy's girlfriend at the time and they went in the room and started making out and tony alva was right there with his girl kissing her and his dad came in the house and Jay had to hide outside and tony's girl went in the closet. he also skated empty pools with tony alva and stacy peralt.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.82.230.237 (talk) 13:29, January 13, 2009 (UTC)
This is something that happened in the movie "Lords of Dogtown" which was inspired by the Z-Boys, as in a fictional portrayal of their story. If you watch the commentary with Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, they say that Jay Adams' relationship with Kathy Alva in the movie was based on a real-life event. However, that event was Tony Alva actually stealing Jay Adams' girlfriend at the time. They changed the events for the sake of the movie's watchability.
