[edit]Is Mr. Denton Planning on becoming a president? JaJaon 17:47, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I doubt it at the age of 83. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.96.231.2 (talk) 14:22, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Add section?
[edit]Mister Denton has a Middle School (6-8th grade) named for him on Azalea Road in Mobile, AL. Should this be added to the article?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.217.176 (talk • contribs) 06:52, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Confusing Sections "Interview"
[edit]The article mentions an interview twice, but only refers to it as "the interview."
I believe this interview should be put in context, as it is not properly described.
Tenure as U.S. Senator
[edit]In the section about Denton's Senate term, the vast majority of the information provided only mentions the elections he campaigned in. There is only one sentence that says anything about his actual tenure as Senator. This should be expanded. --1990'sguy (talk) 15:21, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
This article says he was married to Katharine, and then Mary. Next para says he is buried with his wife Jane. ??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.234.81.99 (talk) 18:45, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Incomplete information
[edit]Incomplete information:
When and where Adm. Denton went to flight school to become a naval aviator,
When and where he earned his wings, served as a squadron commander, etc.
How he ever became an admiral in the navy, as a naval aviator, without ever serving as the Commander of an Air Group (on an aircraft carrier), or the Commander of a Naval Air Station, or as the captain of any ship (such as a supply ship), or as the Executive Officer of an aircraft carrier, or as the Captain of an Aircraft Carrier. These are the usual necessities for promotion to flag rank.
In fact, Denton was in a P.O.W. camp for eight years, and he was promoted routinely just on his time in service and time in rank, and not for any service in positions of high command responsibility, such as being the captain of an aircraft carrier or the commander of a naval air station. He never won the Legion of Merit, which is a citation for service in commands of high responsibility. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.156.77.8 (talk • contribs)

WW2 and Korea
[edit]He was also in during both wars. Ww2 as a student at the Naval Academy. And as an pilot instructor during Korea.
Subcategorization and removal of cats
[edit]"Category:American War prisoners of war" is a subcat of "Category:Vietnam War prisoners of war", "Category:Military personnel from Mobile, Alabama" is a subcat of "Military personnel from Alabama", and "Category:United States Naval Aviators" and "United States Navy Rear Admirals (upper half)" are both subcats of "Category:United States Navy officers". For reasons of subcategorization and overcategorization, the included cats are removed. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 18:18, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
