Year of Birth?
[edit]This article currently gives his date of birth as "July 28, 1891"; IMDb lists it as "July 28, 1892" - could someone who knows their way around census data and the like find the correct year and change either the one or the other? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Otto von B. Queries
[edit]The filmography section was clearly copied from the IMDb. Can someone please fix it so it looks like the other actor articles on wikipedia? Also, we should probably get rid of his very minor roles. -Hyad July 7, 2005 22:47 (UTC)
Also, would somebody try to remember the ?(Earth-Quake and) Fire sometime in the 50's where his house was burned to the ground and he lost his Short Snorter. The pictures of him in tears broke my heart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flipbustle (talk • contribs) 19:01, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
The citation regarding his adoption of two refugee boys from the Holocaust may be incorrect; he and his wife adopted two daughters, and his sons were biological. Can the author please respond to this?Carriegs (talk) 18:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Was there actually a musical version of The Merchant of Venice in 1932? I've seen it listed as starring Bing Crosby, Joe E. Brown, and Marilyn Miller (in the Wikipedia article on the play), but filmographies for Brown, Crosby, Miller (who was in only three films in her whole career) and Vidor do not list such a movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bradfromga (talk • contribs) 22:10, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- The movie was inserted anonymously here on March 2, 2009, the same day it went into The Merchant of Venice article where it was removed a few days ago due to lack of WP:VERIFY verifiability. Jim.henderson (talk) 17:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
I have tried to make the category headings a little more like other wiki actor listings. I also will leave out the detail about him experiencing the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 (Although it is mentioned in his book) There are some spelling & date & grammatical errors that I wish to clean up- I hope my efforts don't get reverted I really admire Joe E. Brown & just want to make his page nicer & a little more pro looking. . -mbd september 06, 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.6.81.62 (talk)
Move?

Joe E. Brown (comedian) → Joe E. Brown — "Joe E. Brown" should not be a redirect to the Joe Brown disambiguation page. He is the only Joe Brown to go by "Joe E. Brown", and is never billed/called "Joseph E. Brown" like the other fellow at the bottom of the list. Wikkitywack (talk) 00:39, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Even in the unlikely event that Joseph E. Brown were ever called Joe E. Brown, the comedian would still be a clear primary topic. Station1 (talk) 06:20, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

USO
[edit]I only learned very recently that JEB was so actively involved with the USO even before Bob Hope. Thanks for the details! PurpleChez (talk) 17:19, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
