[edit]

Is there a connection between the subject and Livonian knights Philipp Schall von Bell and Bernt Shall von Bell? Philip Schall von Bell was defeated by Muscovites in 1560, taken prisoner with his brother, and executed in Moscow. Bernt's tomb is now stored in the Kremlin museum. This

  • Väth, Alfons (SJ) (1991). Johann Adam Schall von Bell SJ: Missionar in China, kaiserlicher Astronom und Ratgeber am Hofe von Peking 1592-1666, Steyler Verlag Nettetal.

was listed as a "reference" but entirely unused by the text. Kindly restore it once it is being used to verify some point in the article.

This

  • Herbermann, Charles, ed. (1913). "Johann Adam Schall von Bell". Catholic Encyclopedia. New York: Robert Appleton Company. Article by Joseph Brucker, 1912 (vol. 13).

was listed as "further reading" but those are generally bad ideas and, again, if it is actually useful we should just actually use it to verify some point in the article.

which should be used to greatly expand coverage of their relationship and work together. — LlywelynII 02:24, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
