Unclear notability[edit]

The only thing I can find on Google is an obituary, and on google books there are mostly genealogies and histories of New York that only mention his name. Unless someone can produce a source that seriously discusses his work, this looks like a non-starter. --Slashme (talk) 13:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Headline of the NY Times obit reads "Artist Was Widely Known for His Landscapes and Studies of Still Life." Sounds notable to me, and the NYT is certainly a reliable source. Not a free article -- perhaps a subscriber can flesh out the stub. Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 16:19, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hrrmf. I won't fight it, but I'd like to see a source other than an obit, though. If he was so notable, surely he would have been written about in some or other art book? --Slashme (talk) 21:23, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
