Vampire fiction[edit]

Is there information for why this author focuses on vampirism in his novels, like an interview? Tyciol (talk) 04:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only Let the Right One In is about vampires. His others works are about all types of other horror themes like zombies, Lovecraftian monsters and mild sci-fi.

Translation of Other Work[edit]

Is there any information forthcoming about English or other foreign language translation of his Swedish short stories?

Pronunciation[edit]

Could somebody add the pronunciation?--TheAmericanizator (talk) 21:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Narrow IPA added based on Lindqvists own Central Swedish dialect. I've opted for an assimilation of /n/ with /k/, since the /d/ would normally be lost in normal speech.

Here's a link to a YouTube video in Swedish where Lindqvist says his full name at about 0:09 for anyone who's interested. It's about Harbour.

Thanks. BTW why does he say "John" with /dʒ/ in this video?--TheAmericanizator (talk) 21:06, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Most Swedes would pronounce common English names like John, Jenny or Dennis the English way when speaking English, even if they referred to themselves. For example, I would feel referring to myself as [pe:tɛɹ] rather than [pi:t(ə)ɹ] to an English-speaker. When speaking Swedish, "John" will pretty much always be pronounced the Swedish way, [jɔn], even English-speaking celebrities like John Travolta or John Lennon.

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation.--TheAmericanizator (talk) 14:39, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
