Jorge Luis Borges's father, Jorge Guillermo Borges Haslam, was instrumental in shaping his son's political views and literary tone. He deserves a dedicated article and I have therefore removed the redirect to his son's article.--Herbert Ashe (talk) 19:24, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Jorge Guillermo Borges Haslam → Jorge Guillermo Borges – 'Haslam' is not part of Jorge Guillermo Borges's name. Pablo Stafforini (talk) 14:21, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

- The article contains insufficient verification of this subject's common name (with most mentioning his son Jorge Luis Borges). Additionally, the article states that the subject is notable for being Jorge Luis Borges’s father which, of course does not establish notability. I suggest RM where the common name can be established as well as the general worthiness of this article overall.--John Cline (talk) 19:29, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 13:38, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support – newspapers.com searches for "Jorge Guillermo Borges" provide several references, while "Jorge Guillermo Borges Haslam" returns zero. [1] Also, for the record, none of the newspaper references satisfy the requirement for significant coverage. ASUKITE 18:57, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support "Borges Haslam" is a Spanish double last name, and is probably on birth certificates and certain other official documents. However, common custom is to only use the first surname, and the sources (such as WorldCat) agree. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 22:14, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
