It's interesting to note that the Spanish Wikipedia makes no mention of Vilda having any sort of youth career, which this article says was spent at Barcelona and Real Madrid - with no citation. Instead, it says that he was merely the son of a trainer and female youth coach at Barcelona in the 1990s.
This alleged youth career raises more questions than answers - how could somebody be coveted as a child for Barcelona and Real Madrid, leave the game at 17 and never play for anyone as a senior, even local amateur clubs who would love the press attention from having someone with that CV. The only times I've seen that happen were players who had a life-threatening injury, or who pursued an academic career such as sports science.
Any sources about him playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona should be from quality press, which is hard to find nowadays as most "journalists" just copy Wikipedia (once you notice, you've noticed). Contemporary sources predating this page would be best. 84.69.125.219 (talk) 13:48, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
