- User:Redtigerxyz has asked for expansion of my comment about organisation. The following sentence above about taking a good look at the organisation of the good article Shiva is meant as a pointer to what a good artcile on a deity should look like. Obviously an article on Jyestha is never going to be as large as that on Shiva, but the general layout and sectioning would be a good boilerplate for this article. Hope this helps. Merger proposal
[edit]I propose to merge Alakshmi into Jyestha. The article "Alakshmi" lacks information. Alakshmi is also regarded as the another name of Jyestha. Their legends are similar too. 245CMR (talk) 01:26, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose: Jyeshtha is identified with Alakshmi in scriptures like Linga Purana. However, differences exist. Jyeshtha is normally a South Indian goddess, Alakshmi is worshiped in Bengal [1],[2]. In Mahabharata, in Samudra manthan, Alakshmi is said to be with Asuras [3]. Lemon and chillies are offered to Alakshmi [4] Kinsley while comparing Dhumavati to Jyestha and Alakshmi [5] mentions that Alakshmi is described as an old hag; Jyestha as a married woman. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:33, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
