Madeleine french-Mullen

[edit]

Would be nice if someone Fixed that spelling in the article, thanks. 109.255.108.147 (talk) 21:29, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cqui (talk) Would do that for sure and you should be able to do it but wich spelling, on internet we can find Madeline, Madelaine and Madeleine... and one or two f in French, after all even if the doubble f is probably a mistake, it can be her name ? --15:11, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
More than spelling needs to be fixed, "sharing her home with her friend and confidante Madeline ffrench-Mullen". They were were a lesbian couple, but I don't have a reference to hand at the moment. Snappy (talk) 19:59, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Support for Nazi Germany

[edit]

I'd suggest that the below info deserves a place in the main article, probably after rewriting to fit the tone etc.

In 2016 a newly-constructed auditorium at St_Kilian's_German_School was named Lynn Hall in her honour, but was renamed "Shamrock Hall" in Dec 2022 [1] due, it was said in the school's announcement, to antisemitic writings of Lynn's coming to light. Lynn was also an active and vocal supporter of Nazi Germany in the run-up to, and during, World War 2. "She was Vice President of ‘Save the German Children’ and was instrumental in relocating many German children during WW II \[to Ireland\]" [1] note that this organization explicitly excluded Jewish German children. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barak~enwiki (talkcontribs) 21:27, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It could plausibly be the case she had links to Nazi Germany; a number of Irish republicans during WW2 had uncomfortable views about Germany or were even outright supporters. However, neither of your sources demonstrate what you are discussing, so that's not a great start. Where you are you getting the information that the name of the hall was changed because of Lynn? Where are you getting the information that there were antisemitic writings by Lynn? On Wikipedia, information must come from reliable sources, not rumour or innuendo. And beside that: saying that you intent to bring Jewish children out of Nazi Germany is a certain way to get any transports stopped. So, change the children's identity to a new non-Jewish identity, put on some good angel eyes and bring the children out of the country. There was often deception used to save the children.
