[edit]

I deleted the reference to Volkmer's Catholicism because it is irrelevant to the article on Hulshof. If someone wants to know about Volkmer's religion, they will go to his page.

Also, I deleted his link to the German-Americans article, because the Hulshof side is primarily Dutch (I should know, he's a cousin) and his mother's last name at least is English. He does have some german ancestry, but little enough to make the German-American label misleading, I think.

Sentence Removed

[edit]

I have removed a sentence from this article which incorrectly stated that Governor Matt Blunt would be able to appoint Hulshof's successor if he (Hulshof) runs for Governor. The statement was inaccurate for two reasons, First of all, Hulshof is a U.S. House member, not a U.S. Senator. Neither the U.S. Constitution nor the Missouri Constitution grant the Governor the authority to fill a vacancy in the U.S. House by appointment, which would be permitted if Hulshof were a U.S. Senator. If Hulshof resigns before the completion of his current in January, 2009, a special election would be required. --TommyBoy (talk) 20:02, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
