Dawn Hamilton's relatives should request an exhumation and re-DNA testing
[edit]Kirk Bloodsworth is her killer, and his case was selected by several corporations related to DNA testing equipment because the biological material that was collected from the victim was extremely minimal for the technology of the time to be test and the results confirmed by an independent retest. In effect, they lied that he was innocent and used him as an advertisement for forensic DNA technology. It is absurd for a person to ask for so little compensation for 9 years in prison with a death sentence, if he considers himself innocent. Here we are talking about a petty psychopath who has been taught by certain people what to say and to whom, so to advertises DNA business of several companies, in return for which he would be exonerated. Relatives must request Dawn Hamilton exhumation and re-DNA testing. 77.85.26.150 (talk) 15:35, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
"DNA fingerprinting" should be changed to "DNA testing" or "DNA profiling"
[edit]Why is it referred to matter of factly? The more proper term is DNA testing, or DNA profiling, etc.
"DNA fingerprinting" is not the ordinary term for the process that led to his exoneration. charged term, (cf. "Partial-Birth Abortion", "Death tax", "Golden parachute"), invented by those in the prosecution / law enforcement community, who seek to legitimize involuntary DNA testing of ordinary citizens under as many circumstances as possible. The use of "fingerprinting" is meant to downplay the privacy invasion, to liken a DNA profile draw to that of fingerprinting, which broader society has accepted as a relatively non-intrusive action.
Additionally, "DNA fingerprinting" is simply more confusing to the general public. What happened was a garden-variety DNA test, and the use of "fingerpriting" improperly suggests that Bloodsworth underwent some special procedure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.69.249.215 (talk) 18:13, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
