Kurashiki NET Program (Native English Teacher Program)[edit]

Punning and I have removed much POV from this section, but I believe that it may still carry undue weight. It is unsourced and does not indicate that the issues presented are actually significant in this community. I am inclined to remove it completely but in deference to those who placed it, I would like to solicit comment first. Dethme0w (talk) 05:23, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wholly endorse the proposal to remove the section. From what I can see it was only placed there in the first isntance to provide a vehicle for some unsourced POV pushing (still continuing - see latest edit/reversion). nancy (talk) 09:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also feel this section should be removed. It's only motivation is free advertising - the program is hiring for new teachers to start in April. The program has little if anything to do with the city in general.

As there now appears to be a consensus I am going to go ahead and remove the section. nancy (talk) 10:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for removing the section on the Kurashiki NET Program. It was unnecessary and added nothing to the article. As Shido this said, it was only put there for recruitment purposes. Perhaps a blog is not considered a reputable source as far as Wikipedia is concerned, but everything written on that blog is true. I know this because I used to work for Kurashiki City and I am quite familiar with the situation there. In fact, the blog provides a more accurate account of the situation there than the Program's official homepage. I know alot of people got carried away and started an edit war, but every negative thing that was written is true. Even though it's hard to source, it's still true. People were just frustrated and angry and were looking for a way to lash out. Hopefully, it will all stop now that the original section on the program has been removed.Cityhallnemesis (talk) 11:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Yokomizo from "notable people from Kurashiki". Kurashiki City website http://www.city.kurashiki.okayama.jp/3807.htm reads as following:

神戸市に生まれる。父親は浅口郡船穂町柳井原(現倉敷市船穂町柳井原)出身。

Translation: Yokomizo was born in Kobe. His father had been from Yanaibaru (now merged into Kurashiki). While not explicitly said, he once lived in Kurashiki for a brief time for evacuation during WW2. He had some relation to the city, but not "from Kurashiki" imo. --Aphaia (talk) 08:36, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
