POV
[edit]The statement that "Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in East Timor may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents" is POV and over the top. "LGBT" relationships may not be legally recognised, but that is not the same as such people facing "legal challenges". The article makes no reference to what any such challenges may be.203.184.41.226 (talk) 19:41, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Transgender Men
[edit]I've changed the line that said, "A 2017 survey of 57 young lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women co-authored by activist Bella Galhos found that 86% of the respondents" to "A 2017 survey of 57 young lesbian and bisexual women as well as transgender men co-authored by activist Bella Galhos found that 86% of the respondents."
When examining the source, the actual reference says the title is "New Publication: A Research Report on the Lives of Lesbian and Bisexual Women and Transgender Men in Timor-Leste." While the report says, "the study covered 57 young lesbian, bisexual and transgender women respondents" it clarifies that all respondents were assigned female at birth and "more than 52% of identified as men".
It seems evident to me that this is a misunderstanding by whomever wrote this article but seems fairly self-evident that the intention was to write a report about trans men and queer cis women. An easy mistake to make when you're unfamiliar with the subject. A helpful tip in the future is that trans women are rarely part of studies that involve cis women. 24.141.118.159 (talk) 19:42, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
