La donna serpente - is the opera or the fable primary?
[edit]Don't you think the opera La donna serpente (opera) is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC which should be at the base name? I realize it is based on the fable La donna serpente, but which is more likely to be sought by a WP user? --В²C ☎ 18:21, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- No. Please see the article; i.e. Wagner. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:22, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:La donna serpente (opera) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 21:49, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
"In addition to the original play and TV film"
[edit]To add to waste of time (in the above-mentioned move discussion): I was reverted for removing an "also" in the section about apera settings, the revert making it worse: "In addition to the original play and TV film". Yes, of course in addition, what else? The TV film wasn't even made when the operas were written, to make the "addition" more absurd. I am on a voluntary 1RR, so will stay away. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:35, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
- Over time, the fable has been the basis for the original play, a TV movie and the two operas. Regardless of the temporal order, once we've already mentioned the first two in the intro, it's appropriate to say it was "also" the basis for the two operas. --В²C ☎ 22:45, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
- English is not my first language. In German, there would be no need for any "also", especially under a header which already signals something new = additional. My 2ct, bedtime. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:51, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
- Gerda, your sense for English (and logic) is correct, there is no need for this "also" insertion placing a children's TV dramatization before Wagner. Bizarre editing, removed. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:50, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
