We need a picture of GIR. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.82.42.4 (talk) 01:40, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We need a picture for Dib. --Raelifin 18:17, 23 June, 2006 (UTC)

I think we should remove bloody Gir as he is not really a character, and all the information is a duplicate of what lies on the Gir page anyway. Anyone else in favour?

Agree. It's interesting, but doesn't really belong here. --H2g2bob 01:11, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Bloody Gir is an easter egg, not a character. --Raelifin 18:17, 23 June, 2006 (UTC)
Removed. --Raelifin 18:32, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What about the schoolchildern - they have quite a big part to play. I mean, people like Gretchen or Zeta (who is in almost every episode). --H2g2bob 01:11, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should make a small section for them and list the most common school children and anything important about them (ie. big apperances, ect.) Devilmaycare 08:30, 19 May 2006 (UTC) Gir is awesome![reply]

FAQ of sorts

Nick the Happy Probe Kid

[edit]

Can we get an Article and a picture of Nick the happy kid with the probe in his brain. He was in three epiodes, yet he isn't on the character list. :D

The President

[edit]

Can't we add something about him? He appeared more than Nick and actually had dialog; not like The Maniac

Cameos

[edit]

Should we put in actors and Jhonens comic characters that had cameos in the show on the list? Bladez636

is there some sort of reference sectgion where i can see some of these cameos? i find it hard to believe lady gaga was in an episode that aired in an episode that aired in 2002. im not saying its false, i just wanna know where i can find proof —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.71.60.101 (talk) 05:31, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Elliot

I'm sure I've seen this guy on my DVD's, and I only have up to The Sad, Sad Tale of Chickenfoot.--Gaeamil 23:42, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split page

[edit]

checkY Done

The page is very long now so I'm suggesting that a split might be appropriate. Possibly this scenario:

  • List of Characters in Invader Zim
to
  • List of main characters in Invader Zim
  • List of secondary characters in Invader Zim
  • List of cameos in Invader Zim

With List of Characters in Invader Zim pointing to all 3 with a simple list of characters. I've placed the split tag on the page to build a consensus. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 14:41, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a great idea. Makes it easier to find a specific character.--Gaeamil 10:59, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah its a good idea it is A little overcrowded because of me I mean theres so many characters. Bladez636

If there are already seperate articles for the main characters, they don't need to be listed at all. So I suggest you don't need a section called "main characters", just "supporting characters" and "minor characters."Konczewski 21:48, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, it took a while but I've split the page into 2. I've downsized the cameo information and removed alot of the images. The supporting characters can be found here Supporting characters in Invader Zim (also linked in the article). It definitely looks a lot better now. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 00:41, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I must note this I had created a Character list here so come look at it for those whod like to see images http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Characters_from_Invader_Zim

Characters

[edit]

I got the names of all characters from [1] Bladez636

WAY too many pictures.

[edit]

JUST LOOK! OH MY GOD!!!!! 20:13, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

We need to remove a lot of people.

[edit]

We have characters here that appared for only a few seconds on one episode. Come on, we know better than that. Zazaban 23:46, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah... uh my fault lately ive been clearly obsesed with Invader Zim and ive been adding characters to the list without thinking (DUH). Theres so many characters. So delete the stuff ive clearly spent several hours on. Bladez636

Some of this stuff is somewhat useful it may be long but hey the L&S experiment list is long too ??? The ruler of us all

Then why don't we shorten that too? Zazaban 22:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But does any single person think something that I put on this list is important huh huh.... Bladez636

I think we need to add some....we should remove Tenn and Mr. Elliot, but we should add the Shadow Hog and the host of Mysterious Mysteries. Also consider adding Count Cocoa Fang. Jn motto (talk) 16:51, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A user has raised notability concerns about Almighty Tallest. I think that the information there can be summarised and merged here. Also a source should be found for the unfinished script details. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 20:10, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added Professor Membrane and Ms. Bitters to the list of merge suggestions because they lack sources and notability also. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 20:34, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree on moving them; in fact, I think I'll try it now!Leslie Granger (talk) 02:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A source that could be used: Jerry Beck's Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons!

[edit]

I found a book in the bookstore called Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck. I'm not going to buy it and join the project, but I will ask the other members to get the book so that they can add real world information about various fictional characters.

This makes the creation of separate articles for *many* fictional characters feasible. Having information about the development of the character will make the articles satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (fiction)

The image Image:Gaz ZIM character.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Ms Bitters

[edit]

I really think that something about Ms Bitters not being able to be in the Sun for too long should be included in her section. Jn motto (talk) 16:36, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

Erm, I don't mean to be nasty or anything, but some of the article has bad spelling/grammer. I don't think The I am the best at speeling/grammer so I can't really fix it. Couple of Questions

[edit]

In the last line of Zim's info it says "age:16 or 12" can this be removed or someone ad some more info to it to make it mean somthing?
Under GIR, where it talks about what the "G" stands for could we put the line from the first episode where Zim askes what the G stands for and GIR responds "I don't know."
Second line for Dib, "Dib is Zim's nemesis, one of his classmates at school, and a highly ." highly what??? Zero coo1ed (talk) 18:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pack of "highly", got it! - Captain Yesterday Does GIR like Gaz? He was looking at her when she wasn't looking in the elevator when she had to get Dib for dinner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.190.162 (talk) 04:17, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Physiology

[edit]

Shouldn't the page talk about Zim's alien physiology (such as having less organs then a "normal" human)? -Golem866 (talk) 15:54, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs to be fixed before changing it.Armiris (talk) 05:11, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why no citations?

[edit]

This page desperately needs citations. 99% of the page has no citations at all. Armiris (talk) 05:10, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar

[edit]

I'm trying to fix it, but as soon as I fix a section, a user goes through and adds more crap to it. Awesome. --Fumitol (talk) 22:46, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning

[edit]

Im taking the initiative to clean this page up and fix the numerous problems in it. Such as: the character bios are practically summaries of the episodes in which they are in, there are too many characters that were not important to the main story line of the show.--Fumitol (talk) 23:20, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning done. Removal of Cameo Characters. Reason: Not even South Park has a list of its cameo characters. Condensed the descriptions of each of the characters. Having in depth biographies of every single action and every single catch phrase (Especially in a show that has a humongous amount of those) that a character has ever done or said is not all that encyclopedic. Most of the descriptions were more of summaries of different episodes.--Fumitol (talk) 16:37, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Characters?

[edit]

Read the desription of this image: https://humon.deviantart.com/art/Long-live-the-tallest-2205297?q=gallery%3Ahumon&qo=815 --86.186.198.169 (talk) 10:32, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You realize that DeviantArt is FULL of user-generated content, often involved with expansion fetishes fellow IP. It is strongly discouraged from reliable sourcing if any imagery (or stories) became an article.

Proposal for new format

[edit]

Hello. I propose that we change the current format to look something like what South Park Character List has as of current. I, personally, find this list to be a bit cumbersome with bios all over the place. The minor characters should reflect Mr. Eliott on the page and not be mini synopsis of the episode(s) in which they appeared. Thoughts? Fumitol|talk|cont 23:03, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an example of the new format that I am proposing here. Fumitol|talk|cont 00:14, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm not sure how active this talk page is now, or if you are still working on that reformatting, but I second it for one. It's much better than what it is now, cuts off most of the bloat and superfluous "info". But I'd recommend getting rid of the IMDB refs and try to find something better, as IMDB is not usually found as a reliable source - GroovySandwichYum. 08:17, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to do a mega-chop on character descriptions

[edit]
  • Hi. The character descriptions on this page are ponderous. It's mostly a mix of original research, episode synopses and personal observations. Some inclusions seem like one-time gags/deus ex machina kind of stuff. Example: In the episode "Lice", it is revealed that Zim's skin kills lice. Does Zim encounter lice often, that this piece of information is useful? Another example: For the most part Zim interacts with Gir, Dib, Ms. Bitters and once in a rare while Dib's younger sister Gaz. However, he also has to a lesser extent some interaction with lesser known characters like Keef, Tak (who's another Irken, but an enemy of Zim's) or in one instance Dib and Gaz's dad Professor Membrane. Not sure it helps us to understand the character by listing all of the people Zim commonly interacts with. So, my plan is to start digging through these descriptions and cutting out the fancruft. Got any thoughts? Let me know. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:45, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should just go with the format that the user above me proposed; they came up with a rather sleek format for the list GroovySandwichYum. 13:02, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That format is fine. Not sure what we should do about content, though. I went through and chopped a ton of fancruft from the article, but it's still not great. Most of the article is original research and personal interpretations of themes and relationships, etc. This makes it highly inaccessible to a casual researcher, and thus unhelpful as an encyclopedia article. For example, I cut the entire final paragraph of GIR's description, because it was incomprehensible and it meandered. The contributor attempted to describe the relationship between GIR and Zib by first comparing it to Zim and Gaz's relationship, (which a casual reader would not understand,) and then by trying to adjust the descriptive sliders. "It's like this relationship, but nicer.
Also chopped long-winded explanation of GIR kissing Gaz. Seemed trivial and it rambled. I'll have to come back later to do more editing. This page makes my brain hurt. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:20, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zim's voice actors

[edit]

I have heard that in addition to Billy West, Mark Hamill, too, was initially considered for Zim's voice role before Richard Steven Horvitz came in. Is this true?

I understand that Wikipedia is not a forum, but I really would like some clarification. Also, the clarification could be useful for the section that describes Zim himself. DJ Autagirl (talk) 04:51, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
