Question: Why is the fact they would be Jewish relevant?

[edit]

On wp:en, there are mainly contributors from English culture and mainly from the US. I'd like to point out that such an article would not be considered politically correct in European culture and discuss this.

The reason is that it sounds extremely discriminatory to point of the cultural affilation of people. How could the fact that a "justice" would be Jew be relevant of anything in any way or would deserve interest.

In Belgium, our Prime Minister (higher level of the executive ; equivalent of President) is gay. I think it is even not mentionned in his wikipedia articles.

The fact a man practices Judaism or has Jewish cultural origins is something that is private, as well as the fact he would be gay, Christian, Atheist, ... The fact a politician is liberal or socailist is on the conrary relevant.

It is not the first time I am amazed by such precisions in articles on wp:en. How is this justifed in anglo-saxon culture to provide such information ? Pluto2012 (talk) 09:38, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any opposition/support to the deletion of this article ? Pluto2012 (talk) 14:56, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would strongly oppose the deletion of this article. I would be glad to provide my rationale should that discussion occur, but suffice it to say this discussion was previously undertaken in 2007 and the result was keep. Nemesis63 (talk) 19:43, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And what about my former question ? Pluto2012 (talk) 20:36, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I note that you also strongly oppose discussion. Pluto2012 (talk) 11:57, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
