Table of stations
[edit]Should we re-arrange them alphabetically? We have articles about all lines anyway, and they show the sequence.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:42, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I took pains so that alphasorting works properly for all possible columns, so if anybody would like to have an alphabetical list, all he needs to do is to click above the second column. Current order, on the other hand, is more... natural? YLSS (talk) 19:39, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I have a different question for you (& others). Both Russian and German versions of this list include thumbnails with station photos, and both are Featured lists (although, in case of ru.wp, it doesn't mean a thing, especially since it was promoted in 2007). In this list some previous author provided links to Commons categories. Which solution is better? The second one is more neat; the first one is more attractive, but its implementation is likely to ensue in transferring lotsa files from Commons to en.wp (& ru.wp & others), due to the lack of the Freedom of Panorama. YLSS (talk) 00:43, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- In this case, I would be against the inclusion of thumbnails. First, virtually all metro stations (and certainly all open after 1942) are non-free buildings due to the absence of the Freedom of panorama in Russia, and the images can any moment be deleted from Commons. Second, I tried to add thumbnails to the page of Beijing Subway and got complaints that the page loads too slowly, so that I removed them. I would rather prefer to have links to the Commons categories, it seems to be safe.--Ymblanter (talk) 10:27, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
