Fair use rationale for Image:Magnardcu0.jpg

[edit]

Image:Magnardcu0.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image issues

[edit]

The fair use of image:Justifiersdcu3.jpg in this article is questionable. Listed below is/are the reason(s) for this:
• Use in a list article or section. Full guideline
Photo galleries: Fair use images may never be included as part of a photo gallery. Full guideline

This image is being list at this time since it is the first to come up on image and FUR maintenance. That said, it and the other images in use here are creating what amounts to an image gallery since there is no critical commentary for them to support in the list.

If the above concern(s) can be addressed in light of the relevant policies and/or guidelines, the image use can be retained. If not, the image needs to be removed from the article.

The issue with Justifiersdcu3.jpg has been addressed.

Deaths

[edit]

The existence of the New Gods, and their respective deaths, are either no longer canon or irrelevant, as the Fourth World has ended. So I'm going to remove descriptions of their deaths. Friginator (talk) 18:41, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

@Friginator: You really shouldn't have. This is not about real people whose existence has been erased from history, it's about comic characters whose books still exist and who are discussed here on Wikipedia. As long as there is an article about these Fourth World characters— which are notable and deserve description— their deaths deserve mention as well. If you can retrieve that section, please do so.
I've restored those deletions. --Thnidu (talk) 05:30, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Urgrund

[edit]

In List of New Gods § Old Gods of the Third World "Urgrund" was pipe-linked to Asgard. There's nothing about it there, though there may have been earlier. There is a page for Urgrund, but it's a redirect to Absolute (philosophy), which is about "philosophy, metaphysics, religion, spirituality, and other contexts [in which] the Absolute is a term for the most real being". I've unlinked the mention of "Urgrund" here. --Thnidu (talk) 04:28, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a stub page for Urgrund (comics) and a DAB page Urgrund, which links to that and to Absolute (philosophy). --Thnidu (talk) 07:15, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion not needed

[edit]

I think this article is needed to understand how many New Gods there are. New Gods are an essential part of the DC Universe, and therefore a part Wikipedia needs to complete an account of DC Comics history. Therefore I think this article need not be deleted, even if it doesn't present all the links to the New Gods article. Dangled10 (talk) 09:05, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
