Prominent Melbourne Dj's

[edit]

Why was the list of prominent Melbourne Dj's been taken off. Some of the list may have been trivial but people like Grant Smile and Dirty South have achieve international success and including high ranks the Aus charts more succsefull than any other Old Xavairian Musician.

Prominent Melbourne Dj's

[edit]

It was being misused. People such as Blake "Blakey P" Patterson are indeed trivial. I see the point that there are no sources on the page, but it would help if a google search revealed more than the odd local gig when searching a supposedly notable "musician".

Music

[edit]

Could a music section be added? Little Red are certainly one notable band from Xavier —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.157.38 (talk) 09:24, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

This list needs to follow Wikipedia's notability guideline as these types of alumni lists are for notable alumni. The school can operate its own website to highlight successful alumni. Basically, if a person does not have a Wikipedia article, then they shouldn't be on this list, even if there is a reliable source. Of course not having a Wikipedia article doesn't mean "not notable" but if an article can be created, re-add the name after the article is created. Remember, being successful does not necessarily mean notable. Many on this list have obviously been successful, but don't appear to be notable. --JonRidinger (talk) 18:15, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, be sure to read the policy on using academic and religious titles in articles. This can be found at MOS:HONORIFIC. Generally, the title can be discussed in the article itself, but with the name it is not included as part of the name. --JonRidinger (talk) 18:20, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Roger Franklin

[edit]

Is this the notorious editor of Quadrant Online? The one who published his own rapturous fantasies of the possibility of bombing the TV studios of the ABC during the production of Q&A with the consequent murder and carnage inflicted upon the guests that he apparently despised because they dared to exercise their freedom of speech and express progressive opinions?

Anyway, I've made his name a 'red link' because previously it linked to a US basketball player. If anyone would like to contribute to compiling an article about Franklin, please feel free to BE BOLD! Otherwise, there is a talk page for the (hoped for) article that you can leave your thoughts on. It already has a few ideas on how we can progress.
