Herons
[edit]The tricolored heron is listed here. Are these really seen in Ohio? These are coastal birds, and their Wikipedia article doesn't show their range as including Ohio.
I'm also somewhat wondering about the Little blue heron-- great blues are certainly seen here, but little blues are not usually listed as being found in Ohio.
Are there references for these? Geoffrey.landis (talk) 00:38, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- Both are on the list of the Ohio Ornithological Society at http://ohiobirds.org/resources/official-ohio-ornithological-society-bird-checklist/. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 01:03, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- OK, turns out that the South Dakota page has maps of range, showing Tricolored as "vagrant" in Ohio, and Little Blue as "passage migrant".
- But the south dakota page is blacklisted on Wikipedia for some reason, so I can't show the link. (https://) www.sdakotabirds.com/species/maps/tricolored_heron_map.htm and www.sdakotabirds.com/species/maps/little_blue_heron_map.htm Geoffrey.landis (talk) 15:18, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
