People from Oakville?
[edit]Many of the people listed here lived in Oakville at one point in time, but were not "from Oakville". I find this a strange list. 76.70.112.208 (talk) 20:06, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
People Not From Oakville
[edit]Many of the people on this list are not from Oakville so why are they listed here with no referance? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.202.169 (talk) 13:53, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
The entire list, save one entry, is unreferenced, and technically, one could remvoe all but that one entry as unreferenced material. But you should at least make an attempt at sourcing before just removing people. -- Whpq (talk) 13:56, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
So this is basically a irrelevant page with names of random people on it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.202.169 (talk) 14:00, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Example - One of the people you removed was Mike "Pinball" Clemons. See [1] which identifies him as an Okaville resident. If you feel strongly that these lists should be accurate, (which I agree with), then sourcing is the answer, and not arbitrary removal. -- Whpq (talk) 14:02, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Removing Sean Morley from list as it states he is from Markham Ont — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.202.169 (talk)
- After some investigation, it looks like somebody deliberately introduced factual errors into the Sean Morely article. If one actually checks the sources in the article, it states he is from Oakville. Thats' corroborated by this article. Wikipedia is not a reliable source as anybody can edit it. I said it above, and I will say it again here, don't remove the material without doing adequate research! -- Whpq (talk) 14:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Maybe the heading should be changed to people from or residing in Oakville —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.202.169 (talk) 14:52, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Possibly to remove the ambiguity. -- Whpq (talk) 14:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I will work on better sourcing before edits thanks!70.52.202.169 (talk) 16:47, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Justin Taylor
[edit]The link to his bio at [2] (archived here) says he is born in Brandon, Manitoba, and moved to Mississauga but makes no mention of Oakville. So it does nothing to verify that he is a person from Oakville. -- Whpq (talk) 13:33, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- After some searching, the only hint that he lives (or lived) in Oakville is this interview in an unreliable source which simply states that the interview was in Taylor's Oakville residence. As there is no reliable sources, I am removing the entry per policy WP:VERIFIABILITY. -- Whpq (talk) 19:40, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
