Better in line order.

[edit]

This list of stations is in alphabetical order, which makes it difficult to navigate along the trunk lines and branches.

It would be better for the stations to be in line order with adjacent stations adjacent in the list.

Most of the "Railway stations in XXX" are organised this way.

Gauge?

[edit]

What about

  • original gauge,
  • regauging to 5' 3",
  • built new as 3' 0",
  • rebuilt to 3' 0",
  • other gauges,
  • break of gauge stations?

Complete revision

[edit]

This has been revised so that data elements are easier to track. The data came from a page at google.com, their research stats. The base table was ordered by Latitude which is why this one has been, which is why most of the Northern Ireland stations (80% of which were missing from the earlier version of this page). I added the Irish names column automatically which is why it is in the first column. I'll try to populate that column in the next while. -- Evertype· 01:37, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Irish names

[edit]

There are no sources for the Irish names, they need to be sourced. And a huge number of them don't correspond with the sourced Irish names in the specific articles. They feel like they're just something someone made up one day. The Northern Ireland ones have been completely removed as it's very clear they were definitely just made up one day by a single user who provided no evidence and hasn't edited since. I didn't remove the RoI ones as they do at least have official Irish names, even if it seems many are wrong, but the NI ones most stations don't have an Irish name as yet. Station IDs

[edit]

Where do these station IDs come from? Is there any evidence these are actually officially used, especially the Northern Ireland ones, and are not just convenient numbering or database IDs rather than something of encyclopaedic value? Canterbury Tail talk 12:15, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
