Someone needs to capitalise the P in Prince. I'm too dumb to do it. →Done and done Ggfevans 09:08, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

The article was tagged for notability in 2013. Since then, one of Prince's works has received significant critical attention. Tomboy has won a Gold Medal at the Independent Publisher Book Awards[1] and was one of Kirkus Reviews' "Best Books of 2014".[2] Between this and the Ignatz Award, the bio seems to comfortably exceed WP:AUTHOR. I'm not even sure if I would describe this as a proper COI, but better to be above-board, so I'm reluctant to remove the tag myself. Grayfell (talk) 21:10, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Please gain a consensus to remove the tag. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:47, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Joseph2302: Are you saying that you're blocking consensus on this edit? The tag was added by a drive-by IP who hasn't made any edits since then and this talk page is almost completely inactive. I'm asking for just a little bit more effort than that. Grayfell (talk) 02:04, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's no consensus, where is your consensus? Get a consensus on this talkpage, then it can be removed. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:51, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I'm trying to do, but there is no activity on this page, so if I just asked it would almost certainly go ignored. Posting a talk page section trying to build consensus would be a bureaucratic formality. I could then claim "consensus" and remove it myself, but that would be gaming the system, wouldn't it? Or I could then post a request after having posted that, but what's the point? Why add an additional step? Just because no one is paying attention doesn't mean it's not a COI situation. If you don't have an opinion, and aren't willing to evaluate the sources, leave it unanswered for someone who does. Grayfell (talk) 18:00, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus is not required to remove tags, or to make any edit for that matter. However, I don't see any evidence that an article is warranted on the person, rather than the books. An in-depth review of the book is a good argument for an article on that, but we need an in-depth biography on the person to justify this article. CorporateM (Talk) 02:20, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, AFD will work if that's what you think is necessary. Since this is going in that direction, and as long as there is attention being payed to the article, my reasons for being cautious about being transparent no longer seem productive, so I've gone ahead and made a couple of edits to the article. Further discussion should probably be held at the AFD. Grayfell (talk) 05:36, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
