The family name of this person should be Lubi instead of Lufei. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.57.19.120 (talk) 02:20, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The family name should be Lufei, not Lubi. Lufei Kui and his family never used Lubi. None of his relatives use Lubi. Lufei family has many prominent people in history. No historic evidence that anyone with this last name used Lubi. Please change it back to Lufei. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daqingzhao (talkcontribs) 20:33, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I just came across this article and saw that the date of Lufei Kui's birthdate has been mixed up. It should be 1886, not 1896. Cheers

Pronunciation of last name

[edit]

The last name is Lufei, not Lubi. The last name was formed by combining two last names hundreds of years ago. There are discussions that the second character was oringinally pronounced as bi thousands of years ago, though not conclusively. Lufei Kui never pronounced his last name Lubi. None of his family members and the hundreds of people with the last name call themselves Lubi. There are many prominent people in the family in Chinese history but there is no historic evidence that any of them ever used Lubi. Language changed in time and there are many dialects and pronunciations vary. The best pronunciation according to family is Lufei.
