Experiments in tatônnement

[edit]

"To find equilibrium Walras set up a series of experiments called tâtonnement, or groping. Walras simulated groping by calling out prices and people responding how much they would supply or demand at that price, the price was adjusted until equilibrium was reached." I might be wrong, but I think this is false. Sources? -- Typewritten 22:06, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nationalization of land

[edit]

Was his view of land really like the Fabians, or was it more akin to the physiocrats, classical liberals, and georgists who argue for full annual Land Value Taxation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.175.73.117 (talk) 19:46, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

[edit]
Théorie mathématique de la richesse sociale, 1883

I provided a full bibliographic treatement of the Éléments. It previously had 3 entries in the list of works under different titles/dates/translations. Given the confusion which can arise, it seemed worth trying to be precise (but I may have gone overboard).

I corrected the entries for a couple of other works and deleted ‘Le noble Walrus’ which I assume to be a hoax. I also deleted the image of the title page of the Théorie mathématique on the grounds that an image of the Éléments is more relevant and two is too many, but I preserve the old image here as a reminder.
