Thoughts on Improvement[edit]

Good Article but not very much is represented on what has been done to alleviate malnutrition in Peru besides government help. I'm thinking of making this article more diverse by adding efforts from global and local non-government organizations . The article also seems to be outdated in terms of statistics and shows little quantitative information which I think would be very useful to add. The information and sources are good but could be expanded, especially in regards to the JUNTOS cash transfer program. Let me know what you think of these proposed changes. I agree with your recommendations for editing. Since the article describes the differences in regions based on the current conditions, I thought it would be helpful to include images that can demonstrate such characteristics. Also, much of the article focused on the high levels of malnutrition present in impoverished communities and providing further reasoning for those conditions. However, I think that it may be important to consider further explanation for the percentages that are provided in this article about the conditions. As you mentioned, some of the data may require updates.124 srgarciaa (talk) 20:56, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Creation of this Article[edit]

Hello, my name is Alice Jiang, and I am a student at Rice University. I created this article as part of an educational assignment (for more information on the assignment/course, see the course banner at the top of this top page). This is my first contribution to Wikipedia and I am excited to expand and improve it in the coming months. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, comments, or advice. I look forward to working with other Wikipedians in this collaborative community. Aqjiang (talk) 05:41, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on the article so far[edit]

Your expanded contribution is looking good. I think that it adds to the original contribution in ways that are not redundant or biased. I would like to see more on speculation behind why the JUNTOS program has not changed final outcomes and I think that the article would read more fluidly if you restructured a couple of sentences from the two new sections. I look forward to seeing the direction in which you take this article. BSchilling (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 21:55, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback[edit]

Thank you so much for creating this article! It provides a fairly comprehensive overview of an important subject. I agree that at times sentence restructuring could result in a more accessible read, as well as explaining some statistical methods, such as what the numbers in the first sentence of "rural-urban disparity" mean. I would also be interested in reading about more scholarly research pertaining to the "barriers" mentioned in the last sentence of that section. Overall, great job, and thank you for contributing such important information! Magenstat (talk) 23:19, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Management" Section Improvements[edit]

I wanted to edit this section, specifically for the Vasos de Leche program by considering the limitations of the program. Also I thought it would be helpful to update the status of the program's role in Peru today. I found an article that described the ways in which the program was implemented and also provides an evaluation of the program by comparing the nutritional value of the glass of milk for those who receive the resources and those who don't. I think adding to what is already present in the article will be beneficial towards providing a comprehensive view of the role of the government in alleviating malnutrition. I would like to hear your thoughts on my suggestion.124 srgarciaa (talk) 17:40, 14 March 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124 srgarciaa (talkcontribs) 02:58, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moving to mainspace[edit]

Hello all, I am writing this to consult anyone that may be actively following the page that I have prepared quite a bit of background and more on the programs I am going to be moving into the mainspace soon. If anyone would like please check my sandbox page where I have all of the information currently and feel free to leave me comments or suggestions in my talk page. Thank you! I will also be contributing to this page. I reviewed some of your edits and don't see any major mistakes. I like the approach in terms of adding a section on the historical context of government interventions. Perhaps include that in the title, I think just naming it "history" implies that you are writing about malnutrition history and not government interventions, just a thought. Also, feel free to provide feedback on my sandbox page. Happy editing! 124 srgarciaa (talk) 21:34, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
