Surname Des Murs or Oeillet Des Murs?

[edit]

I've tried to put some more evidence on both sides into the article. The German Wikipedia says his father's name was Jacques Athanase Parfait Oeillet Des Murs (thanks to In ictu oculi for pointing this out), but that doesn't help, since we still don't know what part was a given name that was the same as his father's and what part was the surname. (Also, it doesn't give a source, and I can't find one on line.) How can we figure this out? —JerryFriedman (Talk) 03:26, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also according to .de, his son was Albert Henri Edme Des Murs, a member of the Société entomologique de France—with a reference showing that there was such a person, listed as A.-H.-Edme Des Murs—but I can't find any connection on line between the two men. The .de article also shows our man's death certificate with "Oeillet des Murs" in big letters. That seems to be the source for his parents' names, incidentally, but I don't see his children's names on it. So the confusion increases. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 14:44, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some errors in the article

[edit]

First of all Oeillet Des Murs was born in Paris see here. Second he died in the year 1894 in Nogent-le-Rotrou according to the death certificate in the German Wiki. I discussed that as well here some time ago and even James Jobling agreed and updated it on HBW Alive. This error was reproduced from author to author that he died 1878 without questioning it.--Earwig (talk) 12:31, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
