Rewenig has zero SIGCOV sources, and as notability is a deletion criterion it is appropriate to tag him as not meeting the notability requirements for NSPORT. How else will anyone know he needs sources added?? JoelleJay (talk) 22:24, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's an information page; at most it can be read as recommending that the tag not be re-added. The main point here is that significant coverage needs to be found; even most !keep voters in the AFD agreed with this. This will both allow the article to develop beyond a stub, and prevent it from being re-nominated at AFD in six months or a year. If you believe there is a more suitable tag requesting this, then please add it, but I believe the notability tag is the most appropriate. I also note that wasn't the only tag under discussion. @Lugnuts: Per WP:NSPORTS, WP:GNG must be met, and as there was no consensus that WP:GNG was met there are still notability concerns - this makes the tag appropriate. I will note that if we are unable to find this coverage I intend to return this article to AFD in a few months, as the failure to find sources despite the extra time will strongly suggest that they do not exist despite the assertions to the contrary at the previous AFD. BilledMammal (talk) 16:13, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is highly desirable, but not technically required, for you to add a list of good sources to the article or its talk page. If you can't be bothered to add such "good sources", and the problem is not resolved in a timely manner, that it is entirely justifiable for the article to be tagged, again (as removing a tag without actually helping to resolve the very real issue it highlights is not an improvement to the encyclopedia)... You might personally disagree about GNG being superior to meeting some of the rather loose NSPORTS criteria, but that does not make your position more than WP:LOCALCONSENSUS. Which can safely be ignored. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 16:33, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have expanded the article a little more just now with some plaudits the player received in a match analysis by a local newspaper, but it's incredibly difficult finding significant coverage about players who were part of a much smaller league, especially when it was 85 years ago. This source does at least personally acknowledge his play during a game, rather than being a mere passing mention. Still, it doesn't necessarily satisfy indisputable notability. I'd encourage relisting the AfD under the circumstances but I still couldn't express a view either way. Bungle(talk • contribs)14:27, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
