Pronunciation?[edit]

QPM[edit]

The police medal is awarded in a moment in time. An actual tangible object, bearing the reigning monarch image. It is not an ongoing status or office such as that of Queen's Counsel immediately becoming King's Counsel. Those that have been awarded have been awarded as the medal was at that point in time. It doesn't change just because for subsequent awards they stopped awarding the "King's Police and Fire Services Medal" and awarded separate medals for police and the fire services, or in this case the reigning monarch is now a King so the medals being awarded is now the King's medal instead of the Queen's medal. You can see that by looking at how the government refers to previous recipient such as in this April 2023 article on gov.uk on the appointment of inspectors of police & fire service — "Lee Freeman KPM and Michelle Skeer QPM". -- KTC (talk) 15:34, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
