Marked "Marlo meekins" for speedy deletion, so the "Marlo Meekins" article should become the main entry. -Thomas Craven (talk) 19:59, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Please do not revert page without demonstrating how subject meets GNG. Subject has not demonstrated anything particularly significant in the field of art or being reported by the news media and does not meet Wikipedia:Notability criteria. It appears as if the article was created by subject's wife. Possible self-promotion?

Am willing to consider notability if it can be demonstrated. Is an artist being asked to make a Wendy's Ad really notable? Much work is needed on this article if notability can be demonstrated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.100.173.220 (talk) 23:49, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, if you will examine speedy deletion criterion A7, you will see that the threshold is a credible claim of significance, not notability—which, by the way, can be shown under any notability guideline, not just GNG, so your demand is doubly inappropriate. In this case, the credible claim of significance (and likely fulfillment of GNG) is not her advertising work but her widely-followed cartooning work and the significant coverage it has received in multiple independent reliable sources. Also, the article, while short, is not written in a promotional tone, and we do not have a firm rule against editing under the sort of conflict you allege. Rebbing 03:33, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
