Requesting deleting my name

[edit]

My name is Marziyeh Amirizadeh. I do not know who has created this page under my name. I would like to either delete my name and my information on this page or delete the whole page. I think my friend and I should have a page under our names separately. I appreciate your assistance. 2601:C8:100:3820:99C6:1DC2:8007:AF91 (talk) 22:28, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment! I have nominated this page for possible deletion per WP:BLPREQUESTDELETE, which allows living persons to request deletion of their articles in certain circumstances. If you have anything else you'd like to add, add it here. I think it's probably unlikely that you and your friend would qualify for two separate Wikipedia articles, but I could be wrong there. Thank you so much for your response and nominating the page for deletion. I believe that does not make sense that me and my friend could not have a separate page for ourselves Only because of being in prison together in 2009. For that reason in 2009 we are not supposed to be attached together for the rest of our lives. We have different works and accomplishments. We are not twins or couples to stick together for the rest of our lives. If Wikipedia does not allow us to have our separate pages I prefer my name to be deleted from this page. Also, I am wondering how someone else without our permission has created this page for us. Is there any rules that Wikipedia does not allow others to create a page for someone else without their consent or permission? I appreciate your understanding and your assistance in this regards or any advices how I can delete this page. EMabraham (talk) 14:30, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries at all, thank you for being understanding on the talk page regarding this.
Going forward, I would personally wait for the outcome of the deletion discussion I initiated above – it may well be that other editors agree with your proposal for separate pages, or equally they may agree with deleting your name from this article as an alternative. Wikipedia's decisions are made by consensus (see WP:CONSENSUS), so I cannot tell you the outcome yet. I was only offering my opinion before, apologies if I misled you. I'm sure many people taking part in that discussion will read your comment here before commenting in that discussion, but I will make a mention of it in the deletion discussion anyway.
On your other point, Wikipedia allows anyone to create a page of a notable individual, so long as it follows our biographies of living persons policies (see: WP:NOTABILITY and WP:BLP for more information). Editors do not generally ask for permission to create articles on individuals, usually to avoid perceptions of a conflict of interest. There is a process for individuals to request deletion of their own articles, which is what I have opened and discussed above.
I hope what I have just said made sense, please let me know if you have any further queries. GnocchiFan (talk) 16:45, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your response and following up the deletion of my name from this page. I also have tried to create my individual page with Wikipedia but unfortunately it was rejected. Even though my representative paid more than $300 to one of the Wikipedia's editors to edit the article in the way that is acceptable by Wikipedia but it was rejected. It is very frustrating that I cannot have my own page only because I was in prison with my friend in 2009. If for only that reason the Wikipedia does not allow me to have my own page I prefer my name never be on your platform. Thank you so much for understanding.
