Etymology of mesolimbic
[edit]Would be nice to have a break down of the word mesolimbic itself with link outs to wiki about the mesencephalon (aka midbrain) and the limbic system (which includes the striatum). I am not an expert however, so I will leave this to someone else.
Am I using "etymology correctly here? Neuroschizl (talk) 21:45, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
Controversy of Mesolimbic Dopamine Function
[edit]I believe (but am not positive) that the phrase "...thus making an individual harder to get it." should be "thus making an individual work harder to get it."

- The article was substantially expanded a few days ago and needs a thorough copy-edit. If you feel like it, be bold and go for it. Some of the facts are also not quite right, but it needs a copy-edit regardless. Looie496 (talk) 03:06, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Prefrontal cortex involvement is via Mesocortical Pathway
[edit]My understanding is that the prefrontal cortex is stimulated with dopamine via the mesocortical pathway (see http://thebrain.mcgill.ca/flash/a/a_03/a_03_cl/a_03_cl_que/a_03_cl_que.html) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vburmester (talk • contribs) 14:08, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- That's correct, but what does that have to do with the article? Seppi333 (Insert 2¢) 21:59, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Behavioural addictions
[edit]In the section entitled Mechanisms of Addiction, it is noted that the mesolimbic pathway plays a central role to the neurobiology of addiction. However, the rest of the section goes on to only speak of substance addictions and how they affect the dopaminergic aspect of this pathway. Could we add information and research on behavioural addictions, and the role this pathway plays in behaviours that come to be addictive or highly dependent? — Jclu: talk-contribs 09:35, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
