Electronic Frontier Foundation Award[edit]

Michale Geist won the the EFF Pioneer award. I'm not sure on how to add it with a source, here it is: http://www.eff.org/press/archives/2008/02/21 User:Vanisheduser12a67 (talk) 22:29, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Official Website Down?[edit]

michaelgeist.ca is now redirecting to a parked page for "Lifelong E-mail" - I guess someone swiped the domain out from under him. Anyone know what his new home is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.15.196.195 (talk) 15:01, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The michaelgeist.ca link is working and hosts his blog. Popartblue (talk) 19:37, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Awards[edit]

I have added in Michael Geist's awards, including the EFF award. User:popartblue (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 04:40, 25 October 2011‎ (UTC)[reply]

Biography[edit]

This area was in need of an update, especially as seeing his extensive involvement in various boards. I've added a list of his current board work with internal links and external links for verification. Popartblue (talk) 01:44, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other Activities[edit]

Michael Geist maintains several websites, I have added these in. Not sure how frequently he updates them, some may be stale. Popartblue (talk) 01:48, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Further Updates[edit]

Michael Geist is very active in the area of Intellectual Property and the Internet. The article would greatly benefit from an update on his work in these areas. Popartblue (talk) 01:44, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any sources that we can move to improve this page?Millertime246 (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He has been tremendously involved in the Bill C32 privacy debate. I cite this government document as proof of his involvement. [1]
He wrote this document on Bill C-32 [2]
The most definitive source of documentation would be his blog, however, which he frequently updates. [3]
His blog is also a fantastic source of information on the Usage Based Billing debate [4]. Canada, to my knowledge, is the first country to consider this form of billing and as such is setting a precedent for other countries, such as the USA, to follow. As I mentioned on your talk page, Popartblue, I'm interested in adding sections on Bill C-32 and Usage Based Billing. They will be completed shortly. Copperserpentine (talk) 19:11, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done! Please go through and edit these sections and correct any errors you might find...Thanks!Copperserpentine (talk) 20:09, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bill C-32 and Bill C-11, Usage Based Billing[edit]

I have introduced two new sections on these issues because, in addition to the mention in the discussion above, these are areas where currently Michael Geist has focused much of his writings. They are more recent, up-to-date develops that should be noted and expanded on due to their relevance in his work. Copperserpentine (talk) 20:48, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
