Stub?

[edit]

I just removed the stub tag and a note at the end of the article which said:

[note: for those who believe this article should no longer have the stub designation, Palmer's sense of a poetics would point to something else. Readers themselves should, and would, expand or delete sections as they work on their own piece, and so this should remain a "work-in-progress"]

Sure it's a work in progress - every Wikipedia article is - but a stub it ain't. And the article itself is not the place for adding notes like this. The article is for talking about the subject. This Talk page is for talking about the article. --Spondoolicks 09:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Style

[edit]

I applaud the various editors who have contributed to this article, but I'm a little confused by some of the style choices. It seems like the word choice has been determined more by redirect opportunities than by grammar/style. I've tried to correct some of this. Also, lines like this strike me as definitively unencyclopedic:

Michael Palmer's first stirrings as a poet, at least in the public's eye, occurred in the early 1960's. Palmer's "moment", as such, was two-fold.
"first stirrings" -- "moment," as such -- etc. (not to mention that "stirrings...in the public's eye" is a mixed metaphor...
