Unnecessary Information

[edit]

Years ago, I received a warning from Wikipedia because you didn't appreciate how I'd included trivia you felt wasn't vital to the MBGN page, and since then I've followed your rules. A few years ago, you agreed with me when another user edited the Brian Littrell page with trivia, and my own edits were retained.

Can someone please explain to me how User:29helixrunner is allowed to clutter all the pageant pages I've created with unnecessary information? Miss Universe Nigeria and MBGN are two different pageants, albeit run by Silverbird. This page covers those who won the actual pageant. Why should it include Nigerian Miss Universe representatives from MBGN, an entirely different pageant? That list is already on the MBGN page, and I don't see why it should be included here. Miss USA once held the Miss World franchise, but I don't see anyone creating a list for first runners-up who competed internationally.

The Wikipedia pageant rules clearly state "Include a list of all the winners. If the article is too long, and it is a major pageant, you may wish to spin it off to a separate article", yet the other user is determined to include every contestant at this rate. It also says "Mention non-winners who are otherwise notable". I received a warning for including non-notable contestants on the MBGN page, but the other user keeps on ruining EVERY single pageant page I've created with their own non-notable edits.

This is not the first time I've brought this up (I was ignored last time, although that was on another pageant page I created). Why this person is determined to go against Wiki rules while I'm cautioned is beyond me. Can someone please look into this? ThanksCleanupbabe (talk) 19:10, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
