Talk:Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission
Comment
[edit]This is about a state government agency within the United States, not the United States national government.
NPOV?
[edit]Was the "Sov-Com" "involved in the arrests and murders of James Chaney, Michael Schwerner, and Andrew Goodman"? That is a serious allegation. The articles on those people suggest that the KKK was involved.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:16, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Creation and structure: timeline
[edit]If the Commission was created in 1956 and protecting the sovereignty of the state was part of the original stated objective, then there must have been some concern about sovereignty prior to 1964. As such, the second sentence of this section is misleading and confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xphileprof (talk • contribs) 15:37, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
- Agree - deleted the speculation about the relation of this agency to later legislation that was not contemplated in 1956. It was created in reaction to the US Supreme Court ruling about public school segregation - that is was unconstitutional and needed to be changed. The commission was created to resist integration. Parkwells (talk) 03:06, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Who was on the commission?
[edit]Am I imagining it or does the entry not mention ANY of the commissions members or its leaders? Very weird. FloridaArmy (talk) 01:13, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
