Cover Numbers

[edit]

Hi everybody. Does anybody know why we can read 5, 25 & 17 on the book cover ? I get the 5 because of Riven, fifth age, but the other ones ? Thank you, bye ! 194.60.106.5 (talk) 12:22, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Book of D'Ni

[edit]

Where's the main article about the Myst: Book of D'Ni? It doesn't make sense to have a seperate article about the other two books, and not this one. Was it merged with this article? David Fuchs, can you explain this? --DanielPharos (talk) 12:28, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I got around to merging in the Book of D'ni, but I haven't merged the other two here yet. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 13:10, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, OK, then it makes sense. Keep up the good work! --DanielPharos (talk) 13:19, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:The Myst Reader/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

  • Link "September 1, 2004[1]" in the infobox if dates are to be linked in this article.
  • "novels; The" → "novels: The"
  • "centers of the family" → "centers around the family"
  • "the Myst franchise, and" → "the Myst franchise, and"
  • "Myst co-creators Rand and Robyn Miller were always creating their own worlds and stories as young children." → "Myst co-creators Rand and Robyn Miller often created fictional worlds and stories as young children." – because I don't think they literally did it "all the time" (always), and to specify that they are fictional
  • A few more minor prose issues in the article. The above was from the beginning; I also found "Reception to the Myst novels have been mixed." – "reception" is singular, so "have" should be "has".

Gary King (talk) 22:48, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All the above fixed. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 00:41, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Still some more. Probably needs another run through :) For instance:
  • "Marrim, will be released on a date. A preview" – what date?
  • "Also giving the novel a mediocre score was Albert Kim of Entertainment Weekly," – probably would be better if it was active; "Albert Kim of Entertainment Weekly also gave the novel a mediocre score,"
  • "After Writing new Ages, " – "After writing new Ages, "?

Gary King (talk) 00:47, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to go right through, I'll give it a copyedit and then leave you a note to save your time. Just leaving notes to meself :)Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 00:48, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Atrus. Atrus is raised" → "Atrus. He is raised"
  • "Age, Inception because" → "Age, Inception, because"
  • I think that's all I could find. Otherwise, it's pretty good – especially considering half of this article is like a story book :p

Gary King (talk) 17:42, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed the last batch. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 18:17, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article now meets the Good Article criteria and has therefore been passed. Congratulations! Gary King (talk) 18:28, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Project banners?

[edit]

Should this page have video game and novel project banners? --Mika1h (talk) 22:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge in two book articles

[edit]
Resolved

They appear to be permanent stubs, and are more than adequately covered in this article. All the content can be placed here and nothing would be lost. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 02:31, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was originally my intent, but I think someone may have merged them back. Either way, this is the sum amount of content I was able to find about all three books, so I support a merge. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 16:36, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 20:33, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hasty merge with little time for comment reverted. Article stand on their own quite nicely. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:58, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And actually the merge involves three articles. At least one a far more than a stub and one borderline Start. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 17:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
None of the articles can be any better than this one, because I've actually taken the time to research them, unlike you. The content in this article is all the reliable information on the books. The Book of Ti'ana and The Book of D'ni have next to no information on them. The merge was in fact discussed months ago, the articles just weren't redirected at the time. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 17:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please no insults! You may well be right in what you say about the novels - this is not my point I can see no evidence here of anything other than a hasty merge with no discussion. If you can point to this older discussion I will gladly concede the point. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 22:16, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Merge. All articles unsourced, very little information and coverage that can be sourced to warrant separate articles at all. All viable information has already been incorporated into the Reader article and it shows it stands in a much more presentable manner in a single article. Rehevkor 17:21, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
