Deletion

[edit]

It would seem every reference is to a blog or publication by the subject, or from his alma mater. The only notable information are the notable (if any) awards won, which would be listed in the articles on THOSE awards. Every winner of every award, whether that award be notable or not, does not automatically merit their own article. Therefore, this page simply doesn't appear to meet the criteria for Notable, at this time. It requires SIGNIFICANT coverage of the subject themselves over a period of time in RS UNRELATED to the subject. Perhaps more there are stand alone articles on Mr. Powell and his career that could be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CD22:4E0:C812:4F8F:797B:FD30 (talk) 03:05, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Awards won by a subject, and write-ups pertaining to them, are indeed a valid criterion for notability. Awards are indeed among the things that make something notable. The idea that such material is appropriate only for an article on those awards, but not in articles on those who've won them, sounds rather specious. A write up on Comics Beat is also another valid citation, which isn't a blog, and Heidi MacDonald is a recognized industry journalist.
Also, I notice that you haven't created an entry for this article on the Articles for deletion page. Are you planning on creating one, or not? Nightscream (talk) 04:36, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nightscream: IPs can't create pages in Wikipedia space, and therefore cannot start the discussion page themselves. Anonymous editors are perfectly able to make AfD nominations--it just requires that they post their justification to the article talk page (as was done here) or to WT:AFD so that a friendly neighborhood editor with an account can create the discussion page on their behalf. I have now  Done this--see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nate Powell. (Note that this doesn't constitute agreement that the article should be deleted (haven't looked at it in enough detail to form an opinion), but I'm generally willing to assist with any good faith nomination.) --Finngall talk 20:13, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
He wanted to delete an article, but couldn't be bothered to sign in for a fucking username account? Jesus fucking Christ. Nightscream (talk) 21:02, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(shrug) See Wikipedia:IPs are human too. --Finngall talk 02:12, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

His Music

[edit]

We should have a discussion here about whether Powell's minor and amateur musical releases are notable enough to be included in the article. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nate Powell where the general consensus was that his discography does not merit inclusion. If anyone thinks the discography deserves inclusion, please provide ANY sources to indicate that his music was ever noticed by the outside world. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:36, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
