Wikified
[edit]I have wikified and detailed the article. The original article just had a long text but I have kept most of it and put it at the end. I still have not found out the reason for the choice of Gabo as a surname.Piersmasterson 10:01, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Revolving Torsion
[edit]Gabo's "Revolving Torsion" fountain at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital, London has been vandalised by the hospital. The fountain pool has been decked over and a hoarding erected around the sculpture. A full commentary and before and after photographs can be seen at flickr.com. Search on "Naum Gabo Fountain" or "Daisybush" who uploaded the photos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.111.113 (talk • contribs) 19:12, 23 September 2006
Choice of Surname
[edit]see Martin Hamner and Christina Lodder, 'Gabo, Sir Naum (1890?–1977)', Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004 [1] accessed 15 Feb 2007]
"As a sign of his new sense of identity as a sculptor, he coined the pseudonym Gabo, to distinguish himself from his artist brother Antoine."
- According to ODNB, the family name was "Pevzner", which the Wiki editor transliterates as "Pevsner". His brother's name is given by ODNB as Antoine, not Alexei. === Vernon White (talk) 22:24, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- I see there were two brothers, Alexii, older and Antoine, younger than Naum. The source of this information is a chronology in the catalogue of an Exhibition "Naum Gabo:constructions, paintings, drawings" at the Tate Gallery 15 March-16 April 1966, The show exhibited 108 items, of which 33 were three-dimensional. The introductory text in the catalogue is by Herbert Read. No clues on the origin of "Gabo" though!=== Vernon White (talk) 08:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Introduction
[edit]I've added an introduction to this page, along with a handful of citations. I removed the "Introduction needed" tag, but left the "Citations" tag as it could still use more, particularly in the rest of the article. Mianvar1 (talk) 22:48, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
