Gurkha–Sikh War → Sikh Nepal war – Gorkha kingdom was already dissolved into Nepal Kingdom and the usage Gorkha is inappropriate. Airkeeper (talk) 08:44, 26 April 2017 (UTC) Airkeeper (talk) 08:44, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- Historians often still use the term Gurkha/Gorkha for this period. And your proposed title needs an en dash. Can you cite some English-language sources to help decide this? The ones I found prefer Gorkha. Srnec (talk) 01:30, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Adding alternative name of this war to the intro lede
[edit]Hello, this article used to be titled 'Gorkha–Sikh War' before it was moved. Can we add the alternative name to the intro lede? This term is used by the Himachal Pradesh government in their website here: https://himachal.nic.in/en-IN/gorkha-and-sikh-war.html ThethPunjabi (talk) 22:21, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Arjayay, I am sorry, that was a silly revert. You think the current version is "sourced"? Here, for example, this was turned into a "large scale" conflict. Where in that source does it say it was large scale? Where does it mention Dewan Mokham Chand, "under" whom the Sikh Empire was supposed to rest? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:11, 1 March 2024 (UTC) Kautilya3 (talk) 20:15, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
