A significant amount of the text in the History section appears to be identical to, or close paraphrasing of, text in the leaflet The Newcastle Gaol available from the Museum. (I picked up a copy while we were there yesterday.) There's nothing on the leaflet indicating that its text was taken from Wikipedia.

The leaflet was "Revised August 2013", but has no other date information. The first version of our article (Decembert 2007) and subsequent versions (January 2008) are mostly identical to text in the leaflet.

Can anyone state for certain that the leaflet was created from Wikipedia text? Or do we need to tag the section with {{Copyvio}} and rewrite it? Mitch Ames (talk) 10:56, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

no issue More likely that it was created from WP content as we were already working with the Shire by then, but there would be no issue either way as the shire has already released/provide a lot of content directly from sources which they would also use to write leaflets.
