How fast is the water going, anyway?

I note that the penultimate sentence of the paragraph under the heading "Formation of Whirlpool", includes the parenthetical "(speeds as high as 9 mps (30 fps))", which I suspect to be a bit misleading. I perceive that the dimension "mps" stands for "meters per second", but I would submit that it is a bit misleading, since it can also mean "miles per second". To reduce the ambiguity, I have expanded the dimension.ÞorsHammer (talk) 02:57, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
